Tela and La Ceiba

A long bus journey took us via San Pedro Sula. Confusion on the buses ensued again as they kept changing their minds as to whether or not we needed to change buses - we did change buses in the end to the oldest bus they could find - complete with an insane driver who hit the horn every 30 seconds regardless of whether he could see anyone he knew or if someone was in his way.

We arrived in Tela but really might as well not have bothered - luckily myself and room mate landed the best room with aircon and satellite TV. We did venture out down to the beach which was practically deserted - apart from the Worlds oldest and most persistant windsurfer (strange as there was no wind) who just kept climbing up on the board trying to lift the sail then falling off again.

That night we were supposed to have a BBQ with the local Garifuna Indians (like those we'd seen in Livingstone) at a nearby village but there was a problem with the booking so we ended up just having a few beers on the beach front.

After much lengthy discussions about what time we should all leave the following morning we left for the 11 o'clock bus (not leaving the hotel at 11 as I had understood!!)

We caught the bus to La Ceiba where we randomly had to hang about in a bus station for an hour before heading down to the port by taxi.

I popped a travel sickness pill as we set sail for Roatan.
